Digital Public Infrastructure: Plans from Digital India Foundation (Libraries in Response)

“In an age of AI geopolitics, India’s DPI can help build a trusted tech ecosystem.” Hear a vision of a non-commercial AI infrastructure as India moves to implement a different model from those of the US, China or EU. This model is one of an open public service for India’s domestic needs as well as for those of the world’s developing economies. “India’s DPI strategy aims to build a robust multi-stakeholder digital foundation that encompasses technology standards, open innovation and data governance, and also to secure interoperable communication networks for low- or middle-income countries.”

What are the threats to the global system from various actors building AI’s for conflicting purposes of market and/or security dominance? How does that make the world safer, more prosperous and sustainable? Digital India Foundation (DIF) is a not-for-profit think-tank aiming to foster digital inclusion and adoption, and the use of the Internet and related technologies for the developmental process.
