Dianne Connery demonstrates the steps it took her to generate useful insights in support of Pottsboro Library’s collection management. Can AI tools easily pull helpful information from data? Does AI represent a new phase in small libraries tailoring services to community needs and desires?

This session will show how easy AI can be for people who are not data professionals. Dianne used a combination of Excel’s built-in AI functions combined with ChatGPT to discover previously unknown usage patterns as well as to receive curation “suggestions,” some of which the library has adopted. “Library staff, even without prior data experience, can leverage AI tools to perform meaningful data analysis to enhance library services and community engagement.” – Dianne Connery
